Had a bad experience the other night=had to wait awhile to be served and we were at high tops near the bar. My friend ordered a rum and coke with almost NO rum in it-she was very unhappy-they charged us .75 to order a take out for a friend-overpriced and very disappointing not to mention the lack of service. Stick with Monday pizza I guess Until you get tired of that. Then go somewhere else..

Nice place with some good offerings. Seems to have improved (food) since last year. We go here every several weeks and recently enjoyed a great salmon salad and the new Mexican Sandwich. Decent tap beers, and good staff. Since Anita passed, not sure their heart is into it as was hers, but an OK place, and nice when weather allows the deck. Also, a popular Canadian hang out. Try it!

My family loves Anita's! The food and service is always consistent, even with large groups. The menu and selection is huge, and everything is delicious (with the exception of their ranch dressing, which is mediocre-- but I'm a ranch snob ). When the weather is nice, their patio is perfect for sitting on the water and watching freighters go by. I especially recommend trying their cheese bread or bacon bread as an appetizer! You won't be disappointed.

It was tough for me to get a read on this place before coming here due to the sparseness of the prior reviews. I'll try to give you a little more. The atmosphere is very casual, but nice. The place is very clean and nice inside, but I wouldn't call it upscale, and Anita's doesn't pretend to be. It's just a really nice, well done, clean, newer modeled sports bar/pub/restaurant, with a great view, and good service. The menu is typical bar food, with a Mexican portion that seems more of an afterthought. Their Mexican food is alright, but I definitely wouldn't call it "good." I would stick with a burger, sub or pizza at this place. They should tell you on the menu the size of the burgers. They only list the number of patties. I asked the waitress how big the burgers are, and her response was "pretty big." It shied me away from ordering a burger (I really prefer a 1/2 lb burger, even a 1/3 lb, for me, is kind of skimpy), and when I tried to inquire for a more accurate description by asking if they're 1/3lb, 1/2lb, she just again repeated "they're pretty big." A more knowledgeable staff would have helped me make a decision. That said, the burgers coming out of the kitchen did look good, as well as the subs and pizza. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, and I wouldn't recommend going that route. They were decent, but I can't even call them good. Their salsa was delicious, however. This isn't a fine dining experience with 5 star or even 4 star food, but it doesn't pretend to be. As a nice, upper class, clean sports bar with good pizza and sandwiches, it's tough to not give this place 4 stars.

Clean inside and mostly out side. You can see the entrance into the kitchen is always left open in the alleyway while you're walking into the restaurant makes you think how many flies are in the kitchen with having an open door. The waiter was prompt but not knowledgeable of the types of beers that they had on their menu, meaning that he didn't know the differences between the Samuel Adams beers they had on the menu. I ordered the sub chicken Ranchero and it was the best sub I've had ever. which makes me say that I will be coming back again and again to get that particular item, very good.

Anita's is a typical bar food type restaurant with decent pizza and subs. That being said the wait staff at this place is marginal at best. We frequent the place regularly and invited some friends to eat here prior to attending a play at the Snug. The waitress spilled Raspberry dressing all over my friends coat and car seat cover and the only offer was an apology. Would not have been an issue if the attitude were a little different and not even a mention from mgmt! Will not be back anytime soon !

Was looking for a nice place to stop for lunch on our way up north for the weekend. While it was a few miles out of our way, I had always wanted to check out Marine City so we decided to stop by Anita's Place. We got there around 11:30am and found plenty of seating available on the waterfront patio. We sat at the far north end of the patio but quickly realized that there was a dumpster nearby and I could get a slight whiff of. So that wasn't going to work. We moved to the south side of the patio so it wouldn't be an issue. The waiter greeted us quickly and we had a drink order and appetizer in within 2 minutes of being seated. We decided to get an order of jalapeño poppers to start, then we split a medium pizza with onion, pepperoni, and green peppers, with Parmesan crust. The poppers were good, not great, but the pizza was incredible! Now on to the atmosphere... It was a Friday afternoon at 11:30 when we arrived, and we were the third group to be seated on the patio. I could not believe how quiet and peaceful it was out there. The absence of any traffic noise was a big plus and a reminder that you were now in Small Town, USA. A few massive barges went by occasionally and every 15 minutes a ferry would cross the border shuttling cars to and from Canada, which was cool to see. Speaking of Canada, keep an eye on your cell phone and make sure you're not sending texts, emailing, or making calls if you're connected to a Canadian cell tower. Int'l rates can be pricy! Your carrier should send you a text to alert you if that happens. The only negative was that when we were ready to go, at about 12:30, the patio had gotten a little busier and it took our waiter a little longer than we would have liked to get us our bill. Overall, this was a great experience and we will be back!
